Elizabeth "Ann" Slief
March 29, 1929 - January 24, 2024

Elizabeth "Ann" Slief, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was 94. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Pastor Francis Bartley, Jr., officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Ann was born to George and Mabel (Randle) Axline in Fort Worth, TX, on March 29, 1929. She was one of four siblings. She graduated from Pratt High School in Kansas in 1947 and went on to graduate from Kansas State, formally known as Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science in 1951. She married Homer D. Slief on August 13, 1949, in Pratt, KS. They moved to Ponca City in 1955 after Homer was honorably discharged from the Navy.

Ann loved being a mother and grandmother more than anything. She was active in her children's activities and her grandchildren's activities, never missing a game or event. She remembered everyone's birthdays and was sweet, kind, and gentle. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, and playing bridge. She also had a soft spot for all animals.

She is survived by her daughter Sara Kreger; son David Slief and wife Le; sister Kay Smith; grandsons Aaron Kreger, Andrew Kreger, Daniel Slief, and Matthew Slief; three great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents George and Mabel Axline; husband Homer Slief; sister Carol; and brother George.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, 900 W Prospect Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
