Gordon David (Sanders) Sanders
January 23, 1957 ~ June 3, 2022 (age 65)

Gordon David Sanders, 65, of Ponca City has gone to heaven. He was born on January 23, 1957, in Ponca City the son of Charles Gordon Sanders and Margarette Pairilee (Eaton) Sanders. He attended school in Tonkawa where he played football. He married the love of his life, Scheryl Whittenburg on October 29, 1977. They raised their two boys with love, understanding and a strong leaning toward sports. Gordon loved sports, football, baseball or fishing; he watched them, played them and discussed them. He even coached little league baseball for a while. He was a good bowler, playing in a league, and enjoyed baking bread. He worked as a lineman for many years in Tonkawa before he retired. After retirement he worked as a bus driver for Frontier School in Red Rock. Gordon enjoyed helping and spending time with the kids. He was well known and highly respected in our community.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Margarette, wife Scheryl, sister Glenda Sanders, sister Juanita Dehart, brother-in-law Glendon Dehart, and good friend Donald Gonzales.

He leaves behind to mourn his loss, son Charles Gordon Sanders and his wife Reanna of Red Rock, son Donald Randy Sanders of Ponca City, grandson Chandler Sanders of Ponca City, granddaughter Mykena Ramirez of Ponca City, granddaughter Cryslin Ramirez-Sanders of Red Rock, grandson Onixx Ramirez-Sanders of Red Rock, great granddaughter Hazel Sanders of Ponca City, sister Brenda Green and her husband Jr. of Ponca City, nephews: J.C Bloomer, Lance Matthews, John Dehart, Charles Dehart, Eric Matthews, and niece Shannon Wheeler and her husband Patrick, nephew Jason Green and his wife Sasha. Also surviving are sister-in-law Shirley Charron, sister-in-law Sherry Whittenburg, niece Michelle Whetstone, niece Elisa Snyder, niece Tammi Montgomery, cousin Noella Harman and her husband Todd, and good friend Randy Rudd.

Funeral services under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Resthaven Cemetery of Ponca City. Pastor Jimmy of the Otoe Baptist Church of Red Rock will officiate. Casket bearers for the service will include: Jason Green, Charles Sanders, Donald Sanders, JC Bloomer, John Dehart, Charles Dehart and Randy Rudd.
