John William McKnight ended his journey on earth to join his Lord and Savior on Sunday February 27, 2011 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 63 years of age.

The Traditional Funeral Feast will be held at noon on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church. The service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Ponca Indian Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel

John was born August 19, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lloyd Dell McKnight Sr. and Ruby Dell Piland McKnight. He was married to Oresa Hilda Williams on February 24, 1974. The couple made their first home in Texas prior to moving to Ponca City in December of 1994.

John was a member of the Ft. Graham Baptist Church of Lake Whitney, Texas. He has been employed with Securitas Security at the Albertson Distribution plant for 13 years. His hobbies were fishing and spending time with grandchildren. He was an avid reader of western stories and playing spider solitaire on the computer.

He is survived by his wife Oresa, of the home two sons Marcus McKnight and wife, Spring, of Ponca City, Gary Dell McKnight and wife, Shanda, of Fort Worth, Texas and one daughter Tanya McKnight, also of Fort Worth three brothers, Douglas, Kenneth and Lovelle McKnight seven grandchildren, Duncan, Ethen, Maston, Jessica, Hannah, Jules and Jax a host of very close family of inlaws and devoted friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Lloyd Dell McKnight Jr. and an infant, son Larry Dell McKnight.
