November 24, 1963 - December 1, 2018

Irene Laura Lawson former resident of Ponca City passed away Saturday evening, December 1, 2018 in Oklahoma City. She was 55 years of age. She was born on November 24, 1963 in Pawnee, OK to William and Ruth Warrior Simpson.

Funeral services will follow the traditional noon feast and give away will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Kemble officiating. Burial will follow in the Ponca Indian Cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City.

Irene grew up in Ponca City and attended the Ponca City schools graduating from Po High she then attendee Seminole State College and obtained her Associate Degree. Irene met the love of her life Keith Lawson and they were married August 31, 1988 in Perry, OK and they made their home in Ponca City. Irene was known for spoiling her grandkids and she loved to go swimming with them and her kids. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the Casino’s.

Survivors include: Husband Keith of the Home, 2 sons; Keith Simpson of OKC, OK and Kyle Lawson of Ponca City, 2 daughters; Rusti Walters and husband David and Kendall Lawson both of OKC, OK and 11 grandchildren; 3 brothers; Scotty Simpson and wife Georgina of Ponca City, OK Clyde Simpson and wife Sue of Shawnee, OK Steve Simpson of Arkansas City KS; 2 sisters; Naomi Mills and husband Jimmy of Perry, OK, Mary James and husband Beau of Mustang, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, 1 brother; William Simpson Jr.
