Lance Christian Carney, 67, of Anadarko, passed away, Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Lawton, OK. He was born on March 22, 1947 in Pawnee to Leona Big Goose.

Lance attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, OK and Haskell College in Lawrence, KS. He served in the US Air Force from 1965-1969. He completed his working career as a truck driver for the Texas Dept. of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his birth motherLeona Roughface, his adoptive fatherSidney M. Carney, brothers Thomas Roughface and Bronson Roughface. Sisters Nellie OBregon, Mona Baken, Bernice Davis and Isabelle Cornelius.

Lance is survived by his wifeKathy, daughters Darren Carney of Salamanca, NY, Kelli Garca and her husband Manuel of Grand Prairie, TX. SonLance Carney, II and his wife Krista of Salamanca, NY. Grandchildren Andrew, Roger, Rena, Mikaya and 4 great grandchildren. Adoptive motherEma Carney. Brothers Flint Carney, Mark Carney and his wife Jan GreerCarney and Alva Roughface. Sisters Tana Carney, Sarah Roughface, Diane Kauahquo and Evona Williams. Many Cousins, Nieces and nephews.

Wake service will be 7 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014, Traditional meal at NOON Monday, May 5, 2014 with Funeral Services at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jimmy White officiating. All at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church of White Eagle, OK.
