Lamar Curtis Sunshine Brown, 57, of White Eagle, OK, was called back home on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Curtis was born on May 24, 1955 in Pawnee, OK to Eugene Stanley and Mava Roy Brown, SR.

Curtis went to White Eagle School, then to Chilocco Indian School. He worked many years for the Ponca Tribe with O.E.M. He enjoyed spending time at the casino and playing with his grandchildren. Curtis was a heavy equipment operator.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers Eugene Stanley Brown, Jr., Kenneth Marvin Brown, SR., Allen Blueback and Anthony Arkeketa.

Curtis is survived by his wife Georgianna Warrior Brown, 4 children Robert Anthony Rosborro, Francis Lamar Brown, Angie Marie Brown and Martha Brown, all of Ponca City. 2 granddaughters Amy Brown and Nyleen Brown both of Ponca City. 4 Sisters Martha Brown, Eugenia Brown, Alice Brown all of Ponca City and Teresa Brown of Billings, OK, 4 Brothers Lamont Brown II of Ponca City, Edward Brown of Billings, OK, Cody Brown of Macy , NE, and Phillip Brown of Kyle, SD. Numerous nephews and nieces.

Prayer Services will by Sunday and Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. at the Ponca Indian Cultural Center in White Eagle. Traditional Feast will be Noon Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 followed by services at 2:00 p.m. Clifford Springwater from Ponca Indian Baptist Church will be officiating Our beloved Curtis will be laid to rest at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery.
