Harvey Duane Atkins Jr., resident of Ponca City, went to be with his Lord our God on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Hillcrest Medical Center. He was 41.

Traditional Noon Feast will be held at noon, Monday, Nov. 12, at the Ponca Indian Cultural Center and the funeral service following at 2 p.m. with Clifford Springwater, officiating. Burial will then follow at the Ponca Indian Cemetery in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Harvey was born on Oct. 5, 1971, to Harvey Duane Atkins Sr. and Mary F. Warrior Atkins in Pawnee. He was married to Sylvia Urioste in 1997 in Ponca City. He worked as a Pipe Fitter for Local 430.

He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved to hunt, fish, mow his yard, gardening, and planting trees. He loved to work on old cars too. Harvey also embraced his Native American Culture. The most important thing to Harvey was his children and spending as much time as possible with them.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Atkins, of the home; four children, Harvey Atkins, III, Kimberly Grace Atkins, and Timothy Alex Atkins all of the home and Latosha Gaines of Perkins; his mother, Mary F. Warrior-Atkins; brother, Amos Hinton; uncle, Jimmy and Freda Atkins; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceded in death by his father, Harvey D. Atkins Sr., maternal grandparents, Amos and Irene Warrior, and paternal grandparents, Bill and Belinda Atkins.

Casketbearers will be Amos Hinton, Clay Hinton, Harvey Atkins, III, Amos Simpson, Arthur Urioste, and Robert Urioste.
