Ella Shreckengaust ~ ~ ~1869-1904

Ella M. Gelvin, daughter of A. L. Gelvin was born in Washington county, Iowa, December 20, 1869, was married to William Shreckengaust in Longwood township, Kay county, Oklahoma, March 20, 1898, died in Trinidad, Colorado, Sept 19, 1904. The funeral was held from the M.E. church in Ponca City, Friday, September 23, 1904, at 2 o'clock p. m. sermon by Rev. E. S. Farrand, pastor of the Presbyterian church.
She had beeen a sufferer from consumption for many years, and had sought for health in Kansas, then at El Paso, Texas, and finally at Trinidad, Colorado, but without avail.
She leaves a husband, father, mother, two brothers and two sisters to mourn her loss. She was converted at the age of 19, and remained a faithful Christian until her death, being a member of the Methodist Church. She was highly respected by all who knew her, and her death is mourned by the entire community.
The funeral was largely attended and the remains were laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Ponca City.
