Karen Kay Rush, resident of Ponca City passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 65.

Karen was born the daughter of Reverend Mervin Thiodore Hoskins and Luella Cole Hoskins on November 14, 1943 in Compton, California. She married Floyd Richard Rush on August 23, 1986 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Karen was employed at Conoco for 13 years. She was a longtime member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where she was worship leader for many years. Karen loved singing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Wendy Wilson and husband, Gary, Rita McGarvin, David Rush and wife, Stacey and Brian Rush and wife, Debbie; one sister, Delores Bates; and grandchildren, Josh Widener, Jon Widener, Steven Simmons, Chris Rush, Casey Rush, Cassie Forcum, Jessica Simmons and Anna Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard, March 29, 1995; brother, Mervin T. Hoskins, Jr.; and nephew, Vance Bates.

Casket bearers for the service will be grandsons, Josh Widener, Jon Widener, Steven Simmons, Chris Rush, Casey Rush and friend, David Comer.

Honorary casket bearers will be granddaughters, Cassie Forcum, Jessica Simmons and Anna Simmons.

The family will be at the home of David Rush, 115 Park Place or at the home of Wendy Wilson, 1922 N. 7th to receive visitors.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church with Reverend Brock Carlile and Reverend Michael McNeely officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 62 Victory, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74604.
