November 12, 1928 - July 26, 2023

Mable Dolores Rose, 94, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on July 27, 2023, at her home. A private family graveside ceremony was held. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Mable was born in Ponca City, OK, on November 15, 1928, to Roy and Delta Mae (Estes) Kelly. The family moved to Kildare and then on to Newkirk, OK, where Dolores attended school and graduated in 1946. Dolores moved back to Ponca City and worked at Midwest Creamery.

She met and married her husband LeRoy Rose in 1946, and they made their home in Ponca City until his death in 2013. They have one daughter Linda Head. Dolores was a stay at home mother and homemaker until 1965 when she attended Ponca City Business College. Later she worked for Souligny Agency and State Farm Insurance (Larry Weems) until retiring in 1983.

She enjoyed reading, sewing and fishing. Dolores and LeRoy traveled to Canada, Mexico, Alaska and Gunnison, CO.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Raymond Kelly and Chester Kelly; two sisters, Mildred Hawkins and Maxine Killebrew. Remaining are her daughter, Linda Head and her husband, Mikel Head of Ponca City, OK; niece, Jan Ambrose of Tulsa, OK and niece, Joyce Miller of Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview, Ponca City, OK, 74601 or First Baptist Church, 218 S 6th St, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
