Amanda Muchow Kidder Obit

A resident of Ponca City for more than 80 years, Mrs. Amanda A. Kidder, died this morning at her home, 603 South Fourth. She had been in ill health for some time.
Born July 27, 1890, in Cowley County, Kansas, daughter of C. F. and Augusta Muchow, she made the run with her parents at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. The family staked a claim at what is now Prospect and Fourteenth.
On March 18, 1911, she married Dr. H. R. Kidder, at Newkirk. Mrs. Kidder was a dress maker and worked for Hutton Dress Shop. She also traveled with Dr., Kidder, who was an early day veterinarian on his calls.
Mrs. Kidder was a member of the First Baptist Church, past member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School class and teacher of that class for a number of years. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, December 2, 1965.
Survivors include one son; Lyle E. Kidder, Derby Kansas a daughter-in-law , Mrs. Lorene Kidder, 210 East Walnut, one sister, Mrs. Clarence Shields, Ponca City,.; two great-grandsons, Jack Schwarz, 1003 South Pine, and Eddie Schwarz, 828 North Pine; one great-great-granddaughter and three step-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Glenwood Kidder, in 1965; two brothers; A. L. and Frank Muchow; two sisters, Grace Gill and Minnie L. Ulin and one granddaughter, Patricia Artz.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Memorial Chapel with Dr. Evans T. Moseley officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
The family will be at the family home, 603 South Fourth
