Everett Elroy Gonterman passed away on September 13, 2016 in Seymour, Missouri. Everett was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on January 17, 1933 to Edward Preston and Gladys Bernice (Hesson) Gonterman. On February 20, 1953, Everett married Sharon Rae Bradley in Ponca City. In 2003, they moved to Springfield, Missouri to be closer to their children.

Everett worked at Midwest Pipeline in Wheaton, Illinois for over 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and a part of the Local 150 Union. He was a simple man who enjoyed country music, old westerns, and could often be found tinkering around in his shop. Survivors include his son Kenneth Gonterman, daughter, Rena Capps, son, John Gonterman and wife, Kelly, grandchildren, Angela Neufeld, Phillip Capps, Keni Lynn Taylor Gonterman, Brenna Gonterman, Leisy Gonterman, Chris Gonterman, and Cody Gonterman, as well as 16 great-grandchildren.

Everett was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, brothers, Edward and Robert Gonterman, and his daughter, Janis Gonterman and Cathy Ann Strain.

Viewing will begin on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Family will be available to greet friends on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside ceremony will held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City.

Honorary pallbearers are: Sonny Pruitt, George Gonterman, Gary Sheldon, Dennis Bradley, David Bradley, and Johnny Sheldon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Everett’s honor to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
