Paul Evans Dies After Long Illness
Paul (Chick) Evans, 48, 100 East Broadway, died at 1:15 Wednesday at his home after an extended illness.
Services will be held Saturday in the First Christian Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Loyal Northcott, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Evans was born in Ponca City Oct. 10, 1910. He attended Ponca City schools and was graduated from high school in 1931.
A member of the First Christian Church, Evans was a former mechanic at Edo's Auto Service and at the Ford garage.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Pearl Evans of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin Stone, Blackwell; one brother, J.D. Evans, Larned, Kan.; one sister, Mrs Horace Pigg, Joplin, Mo.; four uncles, Will Steele, Fairfax; Cam Steele, La Habra, Calif.; and Ernest and Will Steele of Ponca City, and three grandchildren
