Charles Edward Burgell ~ ~ ~1873-1963

C. E. Burgell, 89, Dies in Colorado
Charles Edward Burgell, 89, for many years a resident of Ponca City and area, died this morning at Sterling, Colo.
He was born Aug. 16, 1873, at Neoga, Ill., and in 1907 was married to Phoebe White at Blackwell. Most of his life was spent working on the Big V Ranch.
Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Thornton and Mrs. Margaret Thornton, Sterling; six sons, Charles, 1221 South Fourth, Jack, Ponca City, Clifford of Neodesha, Kan., Bill, Arvada, Colo., and Glenn, Fremont, Neb.; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two children.
The body will arrive in Ponca City Tuesday evening. Funeral arrangements will be announced at the Gill-Lessert Funeral Home.
The family will be at the Charles Burgell home, 1221 South Fourth.

Burgell Funeral Set for Thursday
Funeral services for Charles Edward Burgell, 89, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Gill-Lessert Funeral Home. L. H. Pinard, presiding minister of the Jehovah Witnesses, will officiate.
Burgell, who worked for many years at the Big V Ranch, died Monday morning at Sterling, Colo. Surviving him are two daughters, six sons, 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of his son, Charles Burgell, 1221 South Fourth.
