REV. H. J. DOBBS Services: Thurs., Aug. 12, 3 p.m.Services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., Thursday, August 12, 2004, at 3:00 p.m., for Rev. H. J. Dobbs, 79, who passed away August 9, 2004 in a local hospital. Rev. Paul Hocker will officiate.
Rev. Dobbs was born December 15, 1924 in Blackwell, Oklahoma and resided in Kern County for 14 years. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WW II. Rev. Dobbs was a Pentecostal minister for 40 years and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was also a retired truck driver from the Santa Fe Railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty J. Dobbs of Bakersfield; daughters, Golda Hula and Yvonne Williams both of Bakersfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Barbara Dobbs of La Mirada, Glen and Brenda Dobbs and Raymond and Terri Dobbs of Bakersfield; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hildred loved to sing and play the piano, singing songs unto the Lord. Now that his journey has ended here on earth he is residing in the hands of the Lord where he has no more pain or worries. His life was a living testimony to his faith. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert, Tom, Stephen, Michael, Christopher and Travis Dobbs.
Visitation begins today, August 11, at 3 p.m.
