Pamala Rae Pam Wilson, longtime resident of Ponca City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, December 15, 2011 at her home surronded by her loving family and friends. She was 49 years of age.

Pam was born January 9, 1962 in Fairfax, Oklahoma, the daughter of Raymond R. Rankins and Gwen Burkhart Rankins. She was married to Randy W. Wilson on June 15, 1985 in Ponca City at Central Baptist Church by pastor Kenneth Biddenger. They were married 26 years. The couple made their first home here in Ponca City. They had also lived at Fort Hood, Texas, Huntsville, Texas and Wichita, Kansas prior to returning to Ponca City in 1990. The couple had their only child, Allison Marie in 1989 while living in Wichita, Kansas. She was and always will be the light of Pams life.

She was a graduate of Ponca City High School in 1980. She earned her nursing degree from Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa in 1993. She completed her Master of Science of Nursing degree from Southwestern Kansas University in the last few years. Pam had worked most of her nursing career at the Ponca City Hospital after graduating nursing school. She worked as a staff nurse in ICU and the ER. She then became Director of the Med. Surg. unit for awhile before taking her last position as Director of Infection Control. She was also an instructor for the LPN course here in Ponca and a Trauma Nurse Instructor in OKC. Pam loved nursing very much and all the challenges that came with it. Her patients and their care always came first, above and beyond anything else.

She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and a member of the Soroptimist service club. Her enjoyments included reading, cooking, the outdoors and riding jet skis. Pam was an avid Oklahoma State University football fan. She was very good and loved playing softball in her younger years.

She is survived by her husband, Randy, of the home one daughter, Allison Wilson also of the home her mother Gwen Rankins of Ponca City one sister, Marty Neely of Stillwater and one brother, Burkie Rankins and wife Terri of Wichita, Kansas her inlaws, Mr Mrs Dewey Wilson and brother in law Gary Wilson and wife Wendi also of Ponca. Several nieces and nephews, which she loved very much many other family and friends. Her special lifelong friends Ruthie, Brenda and Joanna. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Central Baptist Church, 1732 East Coleman Road with Pastor John Waterloo presiding. Interment will follow at Longwood Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
