Woodward, Okla. — Geneva "Gene" Loree Stout, resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010, at her home. She was 85. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Osage Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Hutchins, officiating. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Geneva was born on Tuesday, October 14, 1924 to Amasa Chauncy McConnell and Inez Glenn (McQuiqq) McConnell in Shattuck, OK. After completing Bishop High School in 1941, Gene attended Northwestern State University in Alva, OK where she completed a Bachelor's degree in Education. She also achieved her LPN and worked for the Woodward Memorial Hospital. She married Marvin Carl Stout on April 8, 1945 in Woodward, OK.

She was a member of the Osage Heights Baptist Church and the Westerners Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her husband Marvin of the home; one daughter, Ramona Elliott & husband Joe of Ponca City, OK; one son, Leon Stout of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Elsie Kendall of Muleshoe, TX; four grandchildren: Doug Elliott & wife Achsah, Linda Tillman & husband Fred, Tracy McArthur & husband Gale, and Monte Stout & wife Theresa; 11 great grandchildren: Andy Elliott, Ashleigh Elliott, Samantha Elliott, Hunter Elliott, Jesse Tillman, Emmalyn Tillman, Timber McArthur, Carlie McArthur, Josie McArthur, Tres McArthur, and Zora Stout; and one great great grandchild, McKera McArthur.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Velma McGuire.

Casketbearers will be Doug Elliott, Monte Stout, Fred Tillman, Gale McArthur, Andy Elliott, Jesse Tillman and Tres McArthur. Honorary Casketbearers will be Bill Stout, Charles Stout, Herbert Stout, George Chase, Joe Elliott, Floyd Allen, John Mow and Mark Freeman III.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union #103, Ponca City, OK 74601.
