December 3, 1956 - September 12, 2018

Danny was born December 3, 1956 in Ponca City, OK to George and Elsie Sims. He grew up in the Osage and attended McCord, East Jr High and Ponca City Senior High graduating in 1975. He then attended Oklahoma University until he joined the United States Army serving for 5 years.

On August 31, 1977 he married Lucretia Morris in Colorado Springs, CO. They had 6 kids and 13 grandkids.

He loved fishing, sports, and playing video games. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and was a huge OU Sooners Fan. He also loved music.

He worked for the Ponca City Water Department for 36 1/2 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Elsie, one brother Ricky James Sims and one sister Diana Burdick.

He is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Lucretia of Ponca City, 6 kids, Steven and Billey Sims of Ponca City, George and Savannah of Medford, OK David and Amber of Ponca City, Cameron and Kreistyn of Ponca City, Christina and boyfriend Michael of Ponca City, and Patricia and boyfriend Jordan of Ponca City. 13 grandkids, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Christopher, Cameron, Destiny, Payton, Natalie, Aiden, Spencer, Sheridyn, Vincent, Junalee and Lilah and many nieces and nephews, as well as one brother Bennie Sims.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 beginning at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City. Because He loved OU, family and friends are welcome to wear crimson and cream themed clothing.
