Doris Jean Key, age 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away March 4, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be held at Longwood Cemetery in Ponca City, OK on Monday, March 8th at 1pm with Don Huddleston officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Doris was born on October 15, 1928 in Kremlin, Oklahoma to Erick and Justa (Hays ) Reim . She grew up on farms in Garfield and Noble Counties, graduating in 1948 from Covington High School. She met and married James P. Key in 1954 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Doris, a homemaker, was an active member of the church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing clothing for her family, and making quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Her family will always treasure the memories of her life that she documented through her writing. In retirement she volunteered with the Red Cross and the church of Christ clothing room.

Survivors include three daughters Latricia Olson (Gordon), Marjorie Ziegler (Jim), JoAnne Herrington (Doug), grandchildren Michael Olson, Rachel Olson Soper, Jimmy Herrington, and six great- great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Raymond Reim and Gary Reim, sister Janice Ellis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding in her death were her husband of 58 years, her parents, brothers Leon Reim and Roy Reim, sister Rita Dickerson, and three infant siblings.
