Gary Ray Jordan, resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018. He was 70 years old.

He was born on November 13, 1947 to parents, Herman and Juanita Jordan in Ponca City. He married Genie (Shafer) Jordan on January 9, 1965.

Gary worked at Ponca City Light Plant and OG&E until his retirement. His hobbies include raising cattle, fishing, and being with his grandkids, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Genie of 53 years, son, Gary Duane Jordan of Yukon, OK daughters, Christi Neilson of Ponca City, and Shasta Akers of Yale, OK, brothers, Terry Jordan, John Allensworth, Jerry Allensworth, James Allensworth, sisters, Deanna Raulston, and Aretta Saunders, grandchildren, Taylor Neilson and Morgan of McPherson, KS, Hunter Neilson of Ponca City, Cameron Akers, Kacie Akers, and Cayden Lewis all of Yale, OK and mother-in-law Peggy Shafer of Ponca City.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Herman Jordan and Juanita (Warren) Jordan, brothers, Robert Jordan and Duane Hicks, and sister, Jeanne Caldwell.

Friends may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home in Ponca City on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 and Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 8am-8pm with family to greet friends from 6pm-7pm Thursday. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Taylor Neilson, Hunter Neilson, Jim Neilson, Cameron Akers, Randy Rouse, and Dustin Lewis.

Honorary casket bearers will be Garland Helems, Cayden Lewis, Tim Edens, Gary Duane Jordan, and David Barz.
