Bob Ferguson, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 68 years of age.

Bob was born November 17, 1946 in Ponca City, the son of Cecil Jay Ferguson and Mary Amanda Ferguson Brown. He was a 1965 graduate of Ponca City High School and a 1970 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was married to Cathy Hall on September 1, 1967 in the First Baptist Church of Ponca City. He was employed 42 years with Conoco and Conoco-Phillips, retiring in 2012 as a Project Engineer.

Bob was an Eagle Scout as a boy and later played softball and coached his son?s baseball teams. He also enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, camping and motocross racing in which his granddaughter Katie participated. Bob loved his family above all earthly things and enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in their endeavors. He was an avid OSU sports fan and the family has requested in honor of Bob that you dress casual for the service, and if possible, wear your orange and black.

He was a longtime faithful member of the First Baptist Church, where he was currently serving as a deacon. He had also taught many Sunday School classes throughout his years, both youth and adult, served on numerous church committees, and was a sponsor on many church ski trips.

He is survived by his wife Cathy, of the home; his mother, Mary A. Brown of Ponca City; three children, Jay Ferguson and wife Kim, of Ponca City, Scott Ferguson and wife Natasha, of Broken Arrow, and Becky Ferguson of Perkins; one sister, Deanna Hodges and husband Grant, of Ponca City; Bob also leaves behind 18 precious grandchildren, Jessica, Katie, Kori, Jayden, Julianna, Tyler, Megan, Blake, Camden, Briley, Mckynna, Tate, Callen, Bryan, Mitchell, Gavin, Aiden and Gracie; also two precious great-grandchildren, Emry and Aubree; other extended family and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Taylor presiding. Interment will follow in the Longwood Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
