Mrs. D. F. Ellison Died at Her Home
Mrs. D. F. Ellison, 78-year-old pioneer resident of Kay county, died Friday afternoon at her home, 410 East Comanche avenue. She had been in ill health for 23 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Longwood Baptist church. The Rev. W. R. King will conduct the funeral. Burial will be in the Longwood cemetery with the Gill funeral home in charge.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Quimby, Clarence Simmons, Elmer Winchell, Walter Simmons, John Walker and Jasper Galusha.
A native of Knox county, MO., Elizabeth Ellen Rhoades was born Dec. 16, 1871, and came to South Haven, Kan., when she was 6 years old with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. David N. Rhoades.
On Dec. 7, 1896, she was married to D. F. Ellison at Pond Creek. They homesteaded in the Longwood vicinity where they resided until moving into town a few years ago.
Mrs. Ellison had been an active member of the Longwood Baptist church since 1897.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, David R. Ellison of Ponca City and Harve L. Ellison of Enid; two daughters, Mrs. George Countryman, route 2, and Mrs. Dora Rennie of this city; two brothers, O. M. Rhoades of Benton City, Wash., and J. L. Rhoades of Walters; three sisters, Mrs. L. A. Poe, and Mrs. W. T. Burgett, both of Grandview, Wash., znd Mrs. J. T. Hamilton of Hunnewell, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Two daughers preceded her in death.
