Loretta M. Stillwell Barnard

A memorial service for Loretta Barnard, Ponca City, was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 1 pm. A graveside service was held at 2 pm at Longwood Cemetery, under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Loretta M. Stillwell was born May 2, 1930 in Stillwater to Claud Monroe and Mary Rachel (Hockman) Stillwell and passed away early Sunday morning, January 31, 2010 at Ponca City Medical Center, at the age of 79.

She moved to Ponca City at an early age where she received her education.

Loretta and Harold Swinford were married and had 2 children, Celestina Givens and Floy E. Swinford. On February 14, 1955, she married John C. Lancaster who died in 1994. In November of 1998 she married Calvin Barnard who later died April, 2008. She had 3 grandchildren Dawayne Givens who married Tiffany Givens and had 5 grandchildren, Michael, Wesley, Kayla, Seth, and Jadelyn. Rhonda Bruce and Son Ryan Blackwell, Bonnie Russell and children Bryan, Brieanna, Cierra, Deven. She always felt Harold's children with Opal Swinford were her own. Ray and Cathy Swinford, Brenda Costello and Allen Swinford.

She worked for the Ponca City Schools as a custodian for many years. Loretta was a loving homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, one son, Floy Edward Swinford, one sister, Claudine Engstrom, one brother, Lyman Otis Stillwell and nephew Art Stingley.

Casket bearers were Dawayne Givens, Billy Pruett, Ryan Blackwell, Michael Givens, Ray Swinford, and Robert Swinford.
