Geraldine Bloomfield ~ ~ ~ 1925-2001

SHIDLER---Geraldine Bloomfield, lifelong resident of Shidler, died Friday evening, Feb. 2, 2001 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Ponca City. She was 75.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at the Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City with the Rev. Manny Loveall presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City.
Geraldine Bloomfield was born June 13, 1925, at Rexford, Kans. the daughter of Henry Mitchell and Gladys Stroll Mitchell. She moved with her family to the Shidler community at the age of six months. She graduated from Shidler High School and then attended nursing school. She was married to William L. Bloomfield on Oct 8, 1946, at Sedan, Kans. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shidler and, in earlier years. was an active member of the Eastern Star. Her enjoyments included camping and fishing.
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Bloomfield and fiancee, Charlotte Hock of Shidler; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A second family consisted of Bessie Nelson, Lee Nelson, Mary Jo Nelson, Pat Nelson, Judy Nelson, Mike Nelson and Susan Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William L. Bloomfield on Nov. 16, 1994, one son, Henry Bloomfield; and one sister, Billye Kime.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Bloomfield's name to the American Cancer Society, 4323 Northwest 63rd Street, Suite 110, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
