Braman Area Youth Dies Unexpectedly
Roy Adrian DeBoard, 19, a Braman high school graduate and employee of Arkla Gas company, died unexpectedly at his home six miles east of Braman at 6:15 p.m. Monday. Cause of death was attributed to natural causes.
A lifelong resident of the Braman community, DeBoard was born Sept. 25, 1943 at Blackwell and attended Braman schools graduating from Braman high in 1961.
During his high school yeears he played on the Braman football team serving as half-back and was active in music being a member of the mixed chorus and glee club. He was vice-president of his Junior class, took part in the senior play and served on the Youth council.
He attended Northern Oklahoma Junior college for one year and was employed by Arkla Gas company as an oiler at the Hunnewell compressor station at the time of his death.
DeBoard was a member of the Chrch of God at Dilworth.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Elma DeBoard in 1957.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin DeBoard of the Braman home; one sister, Mrs. Marilyn Rushing of Lawton and two brothers, Max A. and Leonard L., both of the home; two stepsisters, Mary Frances Crouch and Faye Schaar, both of Braman, two half-sisters, Rebecca Jean DeBoard and Elvina DeBoard, both of Braman; one stepbrother, Larry Schaar of Wichita and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess DeBoard, 614 Norht Main.
Funeral service is tentatively set for Friday afternoon and will be announced by Roberts and Sons Funeral home.

DeBoard Rite Friday
Final rites for Roy Adrian DeBoard will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Roberts and Sons chapel with Rev. Richard McCool, pastor of the Dilworth Church of God officiating.
Cousins Frank DeBoard, Roy Eugene DeBoard, George DeBoard, Ralph DeBoard, Don Evans, and Bobby Brown, will be pallbearers. Burial will be in Braman Cemetery.
The youth, 19, a lifelong resident of the Braman community, died unexpectedly late Monday afternoon at his home six miles east of Braman.
