Hugh Miller Dead
Hugh Miller died at his room in the Commercial Hotel, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Miller was for years a merchant tailor in this city, but two or three years ago his eyesight commenced failing and he later went blind and was compelled to give up all work.

He fell down stairs about a week ago, and died as a result of those injuries.

Mr. Miller, we believe, has some children but they evidently lost all love for him long ago, as he was permitted to live as best he could for several years, and more recently at the expense of the county.

He was buried Wednesday afternoon in the local cemetery.

There are several good sermons in the story of life and death of Hugh Miller and the final summing up would, we believe, be that in all this trouble he was more sinned against than sinner.
