Mrs. Long Rites Slated Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Long, 88, who died Wednesday in a Blackwell Nursing Home, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Barr Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. James Bell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Blackwell IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. Long resided at 516 S. Third prior to entering the nursing home. She was born Nov. 3, 1885, at Colony, Kans., and had lived in Blackwell for the past 17 years. Her husband, F.E. Long, died in 1961.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Clifford McDowell and Mrs. Earl Balthus, both of Blackwell and Mrs. Jim Dailey of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Hinkel of Westphalia, Kans.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be Jerry Harlan, Bruce Balthus, Keith Balthus, Roe Caldwell, Byron Armstrong, and Cecil Dice.
