Former Resident Dies on Coast
Louis F. Balthus, 81, former longtime resident of Blackwell, died Sunday in Walnut Creek, Calif., following an illness of a year and a half.
Local funeral arrangements are with Porter Funeral Home pending arrival of the body.
Mr. Balthus was the father of Earl S. Balthus, 445 North Peckham, and the brother of Mrs. Effie Morrison, 1024 West Santa Fe.
During the years he lived in Blackwell he was employed at Blackwell Zinc company and had made his home in Walnut Creek for the past 12 or 13 years
He was born March 7, 1881, at Dennison, Tex.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of Walnut Creek; the son Earl and sister, Mrs. Morrison, of Blackwell; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Balthus Service is Set Here Saturday
Final rites for Louis F. Balthus, 81, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Alfred Porter residence, 215 West Padon. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery with Porter Funeral home in charge. Mr. Balthus, former longtime resident of Blackwell died Sunday in Walnut Creek, Calif., where he made his home.
