New City Resident Dies at Hospital
Mrs. Bertha E. Balthus, 59, 526 W. Jefferson street, died at the Blackwell General Hospital at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Balthus was born June 3, 1884 in Indiana and came to Blackwell about three months ago from Winslow, Ark., where she had made residence for the past 15 years.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Balthus, of the home; one son, Earl Balthus of 1324 West Padon; one brother, Charles Hill of Halstead, Kans., and four sisters, Mrs. Rosy L. Wright of Lamar, Colo., Mrs. Effie D. Friend and Mrs. Alice Bills, both of Iola, Kans., and Mrs. Laura Ramsour of Tulsa.
Services are pending and the body is in charge of the Fyffe Funeral Home.
Balthus Service is Set Here Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha E. Balthus, 526 W. Jefferson, who died at the Blackwell General Hospital early Wednesday, well be conducted at the Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Friday, Fyffe's Funeral Home announced Thursday. Dr. N. M. Stigler, the pastor of the church will officiate and burieal will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
