October 14, 1929 - September 11, 2023

Laurence "Bo" Craig Riseling of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, at his home at the age of 93 years.

Laurence "Bo" Craig Riseling was born on October 14, 1929, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, to Laurence and Mabel Riseling. Bo enjoyed a wonderful life and loved his family. Although he is absent from the body, he is present with the Lord. Bo was the devoted husband of Happy Riseling for sixty-two years, and the loving father of Linda, Carol, Lesa, Larry and Creyton; grandfather of fifteen grandchildren; and and twenty-four great grandchildren, with one on the way! He as a member of the First Christian Church where he served as a deacon and elder. He also served in the community by volunteering as President of Camp Fire Girls, President of the Blackwell Country Club, and loved to give to those less fortunate. He worked for Hunzicker Brothers for forty-six years.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Vowel and Carol Houghton both of Blackwell; two sons, Larry Riseling and wife Susan of Dumas, Texas, and Creyton Riseling and wife Carrie of Ponca City; a son-in-law, David Ward of Edmond; and grandchildren, Lesa and John Elerick and children, Trip and Lily of Jones, Jamie and Ryan Marlen and children, Leo and Anna of Oklahoma City, Blake and Nikki Vowel and children, Kellen and Blakely of Stillwater, Jamin and Hilarie Houghton of Tulsa, Lauren and Nathan Canada and children, Peighton, Makinley, Sutton and Brock of College Station, Texas, Paula and Steven Cooksey and children, Judah and Titus of Oklahoma City, Michal and Wade Shaw and children, Henry, Sam and Charlie of Stillwater, Ann and Omar Rosales and children, Molly, Jack and Theo of Norman, Craig and Crysta Riseling and children, Palmer and Bo of Dumas, Texas, Madison and Garrett Stallwitz and children, Poppy, Hank and Sunny of Dumas, Texas, Mollie Riseling of Dumas, Texas, Reid Riseling of Dumas, Texas, Kylee Riseling of Hillsboro, Oregon, Caden Riseling of Ponca City, and McKenna and Jun Oh and a child on the way of Seoul, South Korea.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Happy; his parents; a daughter, Lesa Ward; son-in-laws, Tony Vowel and Gary Houghton; two sisters, Betty Kellam and Mary Woodward; and a great grandchild, Hollis Houghton.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 18th in the First Christian Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Jeff Koch officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in his honor with St. Jude's Children's Hospital in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
