April 14, 1939 - November 28, 2023

Graveside services for Barbara Nell Cooper, 84, Blackwell resident, will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday December 6th, at the Blackwell Cemetery with Pastor Tom Howard officiating. Services are under kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Barbara was born on April 14, 1939 in Dumas, Texas, the daughter of Willis Marvin Smith and Alice Kay Widick Smith, and passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023 in Tonkawa. Se was raised and educated in Dumas. Barbara was the middle child of 12, she liked to say she ended the first group and started the last group of siblings. Barbara married Richard Cooper in 1956 and they made there home in Blackwell. They had a beautiful yellow house, with painted metal butterflies she loved to have up on the side of the house. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Bethesda Church.

Barbara loved her family deeply and was blessed with 5 children. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, which she did often. Barbara assisted her husband with his roofing company, Cooper Roofing. She also worked for Southwest Cupid. Later in life, Barbara worked as a bartender at the American Legion, where she was a force to be reckoned with. She also volunteered at the VFW and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. She filled her time with loving and caring for her family. She never missed making her family members their favorite cake for their birthdays. She will be remembered by all who knew her. Her love will carry on through her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen and husband Larry Bryant of Blackwell; Lori and her Husband Richard Braden; son Rick and wife Dee Cooper of Blackwell; daughter-in-law Ann Cooper of Blackwell; Eighteen grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren; brother, Danny Smith of Tulsa; and sister Nancy of Tulsa. Barbara was preceded in passing by her parents, husband Richard, son Marvin Cooper, son Ron Cooper, and nine siblings. Remembrances may be shared online at www.stittsworthfuneralservices.com
