Mary E. Beard
January 17, 1944 ~ July 30, 2022 (age 78)

Mary E. Beard of Newkirk, OK passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Ponca Nursing & Rehab at the age of 78.

Mary was born on January 17, 1944 in Independence, Kansas to Ralph and Lucille (Moore) Beard. She grew up in Blackwell, OK with her four sisters. Mary graduated Blackwell High School in 1963. She married John West on April 16, 1965, and the two were married until his passing in October 1981. Mary then met Charles Beard and the two were married on August 25, 1982, in Solano, California. They moved to Newkirk in 1982 and had two boys, Clyde and Fred.

Mary loved to go to garage sales, ride motorcycles, camp, and fish in her younger days. As she got older, she enjoyed driving her car and visiting family and going to Walmart for her daily popcorn chicken and Coke. Mary also loved bubble wrap! She carried it around with her everywhere and tried to give it to everyone. She loved to pop it!

Those left behind to cherish Mary's memory are her son Fred and wife Billie Beard and their children Benjamin and Terra; two sisters, Carolyn and husband Larry Bell and Sarah and husband K.D. Dobbins as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lucille; her husband Charles and her son Clyde Allen; two sisters, Dora Orsburn and Mildred Nash.

Mary is loved by all and will be missed.

Those we love
Don't go away,
They walk beside us
Every day.
Unseen, unheard
But always near,
So loved, So missed,
So very dear
