Clark Funeral Service

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nancy Jo (Hughes) Shipley,78, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2015 at 11:00 a. m. at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Roger Rounsaville officiating, assisted by Rev. Steve Shipley. Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. Mrs. Shipley passed away on July 15th, 2015 at the Rambling Oaks Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Nancy Jo was born on September 18th, 1936 in Lawton, Oklahoma to T. J. "Jeff" Hughes and Lorena (Thomas) Hughes. She spent her early years in the Bullard Chapel Community, later moving with her family to Yakima, Washington where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she married Herman Dean Shipley on October 24th, 1954. They owned and operated a miniature golf course in Yakima for several years and Jo worked as a Supervisor in the Shipping Department for the Naval Supply in that area. They moved to Tishomingo in 2004 and Dean preceded her in death on July 19th, 2009.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kevin Dean Shipley, three sisters, Helen "Dale" Fall, Judy Cook and Patsy Hughes and two brothers, W. A. "Pug" Hughes and Tom Hughes.

Jo is survived by two daughters, Karen Hamilton and husband Ken of Oklahoma City and Angela Shipley, also of Oklahoma City, four grandchildren, Michael Dean Shipley and wife Rebecca, Jeffrey Hamilton and wife Celeste, Jason Hamilton and wife Jackqueline and Marissa Williams and husband Josh, three great-grandchildren, Conner, Rory and Rosalee, two sisters, Pinky Rowe and husband Ray, Sr. of Tishomingo and Linda Sweat of Oklahoma City, numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Jeffrey & Jason Hamilton, Josh Williams, Jimme Sweat, Ray Rowe, Jr. and Ed Cook.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
