Clark Funeral Service

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ada C. "Granny" Hutchins, 93, of Tishomingo, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church with Chaplain Rodney Sprayberry officiating, assisted by Rev. Larry Strouse.

Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. 

The Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Mrs. Hutchins passed away on November 7, 2018 at a local nursing home. Ada was born on May 24, 1925 in Milburn, Oklahoma to Willie Lee Carter and Mary Myrtle (McCrary) Carter.  She attended school in the Egypt Community and later married William Jack Hutchins on January 27, 1947 in Los Angeles, California.  They moved to New Mexico for about 5 years where Ada did some babysitting and ironing for others, and then they returned to Johnston County in 1962. She spent over 14 years as a clinical nurse for the Webb Clinic in Tishomingo and then as a homemaker.  She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.


Mrs. Hutchins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack in 1992; two brothers, W. L. & Billie Lee Carter and two sisters, Gladys Slate and Reba Vestal.

 
She is survived by: three sons, Larry Jack Hutchins and wife Jan of Tishomingo, Billy Joe Hutchins and wife Cindy of Tishomingo, Terry Glenn Hutchins and wife JoNell of Milburn; daughter, Brenda Keeling and husband Ronnie of Milburn; her brother, Jackie Carter and wife Bonnie of Milburn; her adopted son, Tommy Gregory; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of other children and adults she called her own.

Pallbearers for the service: Jason Anderson, James Box, Josh Grinstead, Roy Wayne Blevins, Jon Austin and Sean Pratt.  Honorary Bearers will be: Jamie Keeling, Bobby Hutchins, Robbie Keeling, B. J. Keeling, Jeremy Hutchins, Joel Northcutt, Paul Mauck, Gene Lafitte, Johnny Herd, Jimmy Henthorn, and Joe Hemphill.
 

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Hutchin’s name to the “Reaching Out” organization in care of George Johnson, 4200 Blue Boy Lane, Milburn, OK  73450.
