Evelyn L "Honey" Smith

Services for Evelyn Honey L. Smith, 75, of Ada are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Revs. Donna Gustin and Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died, Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at a Shawnee Hospital. She was born July 5, 1941, in Pitt County, North Carolina, to Gilbert Ashley and Lou Ellen Fleming Moore. She married James E. Smith Jan. 12, 1963, in Ayden, North Carolina. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, secretary and youth director.

Survivors include her husband, James of the home; three daughters, Tina Pogue and her husband, Richie, of Ada, Donna Frye and her husband, William, of Seagoville, Texas, and Lela Frederick and her husband, Shannon, of Ada; one son, James Smith Jr. and his wife, Tana, of Elk City; one brother, Howard Moore and his wife, Lois, of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren, Shannon Pogue, Rachelle Brooks, Cortney Frye, Roxanne Frye, Chrissy Smith, Amanda Frye, Ahlisha Frye, Bret Frederick, Steve Meaty Frederick, Austin Kerr, Maddie Kerr, Devon Warnke and Cameron Smith; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Ashley Moore; her mother, Lou Ellen Fleming; her stepfather, Joseph Griffin of North Carolina; and her brothers, John, William and Roland Moore.

Bearers will be Richie Pogue, William Frye, Shannon Frederick, Shannon Pogue, Bret Frederick and Cameron Smith. Honorary bearers will be James Smith, Jr., Meaty Frederick and Brute Smith.
