Mary Love Short of Pontotoc, Oklahoma left her earthly home on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

Mary Love was born on August 2, 1928 in Pontotoc, Oklahoma to the late Joe Kiser and Ottie Kiser.   She spent most of her life in the Pontotoc area.  She attended cosmetology school after high school.  Mary Love met her future husband Buck Short while practicing her cosmetology skills and that haircut later led to a marriage.  Buck and Mary were married in 1945, a union that lasted until his death in 2011.  The couple made Pontotoc, Oklahoma their home other than time spent moving with Buck's job in the oil field.  She and Buck later started Buck Short Drilling Company. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family just as much as they enjoyed eating her food.  She spent a lot of her time in the kitchen.  She was also known to have a green thumb and loved plants and flowers which was always reflected in her beautiful yard.  Mary Love had a passion for playing the piano and singing. She began playing at funerals when she was just a sophomore in high school.  She also enjoyed playing the piano at the Methodist Church and the Baptist Church in Connerville.   She spent most of her life as a homemaker other than time spent working at the Ada Livestock Auction.  Mary Love was also the Treasurer of the Pontotoc Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Billy Kiser and Robert "Hoot" Kiser; sisters, JoeDene Stanford and LaJuana Clark.

Mary Love leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son, David Short of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Jamie Ingram and Jason of Ardmore, Bret Short of Ada, and Kari Garrett and Levi of Roff; 7 great-grandkids.

The family plans to hold a graveside service to be announced at a later date.

Inurnment will be at Pontotoc Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made at tishomingofuneralhome.com.
