Graveside Services for Mrs. Wilma Lee Slater, 89, of Milburn, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. at the Hearrell Family Cemetery north of Milburn. Brother Earl White will officiate. Mrs. Slater passed away on Wednesday, June 10th, 2015 at her home.

Wilma was born on October 10th, 1925 in Milburn to Elmer Heath and Mary (Hearrell) Heath. She enjoyed working in the yard, raking leaves, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family. She moved to Tucson, Arizona after graduating from Milburn High School, where her father signed her diploma. She worked as a Telephone Operator and was later promoted to Supervisor. It was there, she met Francis (Frank) Slater and they were later married on November 22nd, 1947 in Lordsburg, New Mexico. They were married 57 years until his death in 2002. Wilma became a stay at home mother, raising four children. She later returned to Milburn to live the rest of her beautiful life.

Mrs. Slater was also preceded in death by a son, David Slater, a grandson, Jeremy Slater, four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Slater and wife Sharon of Milburn and Donald Slater and wife Elaine of Hot Springs, Arkansas, a daughter, Francine Slater of the home, seven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren,four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Michael and Donald Slater, David and James Scott and Joe Heath.
