Clark Funeral Service

Funeral Services for Johnny L. “Sonny" Neely, 75, of Milburn, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 2:00 p. m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel in Tishomingo with Rev. Eugene Ledford officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery. Mr. Neely passed away on January 23rd, at his home.

Sonny was born on March 22, 1935 in Coleman, Oklahoma to Dallas E. Neely and Osa Blanch Maze Neely. He graduated from Coleman High School and later attended Murray State College in Tishomingo. He married Imo Jean Sims on June 22, 1955 in Durant and she preceded him in death. He later married Maxine Converse on July 14, 1990 in Fillmore, Oklahoma. During his working career he had been with General Motors, The Levi Corporation and for 30 plus years drove a truck for Stones Propane, which later became, Franks Propane in Durant, Oklahoma. He also attended the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sonny is survived by his wife Maxine, of the home; (2) sons, Gary Neely & his wife Kim of Coleman and Bret Converse of Geronimo, Oklahoma; (4) daughters, Shauna Dunn of Coleman, Ginger Edmondson & her husband Craig of Durant, Carol McCurdy & her husband Bill of Ada and Laura Dodd & her husband David of Woodbridge, Virginia; his sister, Mildred Boyd & her husband Jay of Alexandria, Louisiana; grandchildren, Tara Neely, Dallas & Krista Neely, Darion Neely, Loxi Neely, Anthony Bonnell, Molly Erwin, Marlee Erwin, Tyler Hill, Bailee McCurdy, Jacob McCurdy, BreeAnn Dodd, Payton Dodd and Preston Converse; one great-grandchild, Presley Neely; other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Little John Germany, Nicholas Johnson, Paul Hamilton, Dale Callen, Ronnie Sides and Robert McDonald. Honorary Bearers will be: Richard Vandevier, Roy Germany, Ralph Ragan, Jimmy Carroll, and Randall Johnson.
