Steve Teeples, 74, Colbert, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Colbert with Cass French officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Condon Grove Cemetery in Tishomingo under the direction of American Funeral Services of Colbert.

He was born June 23, 1930, in Tishomingo, the son of James Alvis Teeples and Bessie Lee Cox. On June 17, 1952, he married Maxine Kelly in Yakima, Wash.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and worked for the U.S. government as a Civil Service Electronics Technician for 17 years at Perrin Air Force Base.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Kurtis Smith, Andy Joe Jacobs, Jonathan Hazelwood and Daniel Grove; nephew Tony Pope; and friend Edward Dunlap. Special grandson Ricky Smith will be an honorary pallbearer.

He is survived by his wife of Colbert; daughters Vicki Ann Palmore and husband Joe, Colbert, Linda Kay Jacobs and husband Andy, Sherman, Texas, Sharon Lynn Hazelwood and husband Scott, Bonham, Texas, Kathy Sue Grove and husband Benny, Muldrow; sons Steve, Colbert, Mike and wife Debara, Antlers; sisters Bobbie Hagood, Denison, Texas, Francis Lohr, Sherman; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at American Funeral Services, 107 N. Burney St. Colbert.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Inc. at 1501 N.W. Ninth Ave. Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.
