Billie Jo Spence, age 85, passed from this life on September 12, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Tishomingo.

Billie was born on February 23,1935 in Pontotoc, Oklahoma. She spent 31 years working as the ward clerk for Johnston County Memorial Hospital, now Mercy. Billie was “granny” to everyone and went on all the school trips with her granddaughter, Kristen. She never met a stranger and loved to cook for everyone; some favorites were her meatloaf and Mexican casserole. She was married to the love of her life, Dallas L. Spence for 55 years. She was a faithful church member in Onley, Oklahoma and loved to fellowship and sing. She was a strong willed, devoted, loving woman who always cared for others before herself.

She is preceded in death her husband, Dallas Louis Spence; brother, Dick Burrow and sisters, Mary Dickson and Joyce Lucker.

Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her son, Jimmy DeWayne Spence; grandchildren, Joshua Louis Spence, Kristen Nicole Wapp of Frederick, Oklahoma and husband Lee Anthony; great grandchildren, Kailyn Rylee Spence, Cody Louis Spence, Khylie Iris Spence, Payton Jayd Wapp, Taylor Rayne and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply miss her.

A graveside service to honor the life of Billie Jo Spence will be held on at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, Oklahoma.
