Paula (Odum) (Stafford) Sliger

A service for Paula Sliger, 79, of Durant, who passed away at her home Friday, January 7, 2005, were held Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at the Mead Baptist Church. The Rev. Kerry Groce officiated.

Paula was born July 25, 1935, in Henderson, Texas, to Jack Stuart and Vassie Odum and attended school in Carlile, Texas. Paula was born and raised in Henderson and moved to Oklahoma in the early 1970s. She worked writing columns and articles for a newspaper, and she also worked in healthcare as a nurses' aid. Paula married Charles Sliger on January 19, 1976, in Tishomingo. She enjoyed decorating her home and keeping Charles busy working at home. Paula was of the Baptist faith and attended Mead Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jessie Scott, Ray Cagle and David Cagle; and sister Lorene Lafoon.

Paula is survived by her husband Charles of the home; sons Jerry Stafford of Marshall, Texas, and Steve Stafford of Durant; brother Roy Cagle of New London, Texas; two stepdaughters Regina and Renea; stepson Charley; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives; and many dear friends.

Interment is in Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn.
