Clark Funeral Service

Services for Carl D. Rowden, 57, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2001, at Clark Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bill Jeter officiating. Interment with military honors by VFW Post 4869 and American Legion Post 164 of Tishomingo will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery.
 
Rowden was born Feb. 11, 1944, at Sagamon, Ill., to Hardin and Bertha Ross Rowden. He passed away Monday, May 7 2001, at the veteran's hospital in Oklahoma City.
 
He graduated from high school in Waverly, Ill., and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war. Carl married Eileen Wind on Oct. 13, 1973, in Washington, Ill. He was a farmer and rancher. He moved to Johnston County in 1997 from Fairview, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Rowden.
 
Survivors include his wife, Eileen, of the home; three sons, Kevin of Byars, Jeff of Sunset, Texas, and John of the home; a daughter, Melissa Duncan of LaSalle, Ill.; five sisters, Barb Koertge of Chatham, Ill., Helen Wrightsman of Vardin, Ill., Peggy Dodge of Springfield, Ill., Karen Campbell of Bigsville, Ill., and Janet McCormick of Las Vegas; a brother, Ken Rowden of Missouri; and two granddaughters, Katey and Lizey Rowden of Sunset.
 
Clark Funeral Home will direct services.
