Clark Funeral Service

Services for Jim Edwards, 79, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Charles Pitts officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery, Milburn.
 
Born March 13, 1922, at Empire to Robert Lee and Dovie Rose Edwards, he died Sept. 14, 2001 at a Tishomingo hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nadine; two sons, Jerry and Jim Ray; a daughter, Sue Burns; two sisters; and two brothers.
 
Edwards attended school at Burkburnett, Texas. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Edwards retired after more than 20 years of service from J.M. Huber Corporation at Borger, Texas. He moved to Johnston County in 1980. On March 7, 1983. he married Pauline Burns at Tishomingo. He was a member of Truth Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church and held services as a lay preacher in many area churches as well as Hillcrest Nursing Home for 12 years.
 
Survivors include his wife of the home; five daughters, Faye Willson, Conway Springs, Kan., Kerry Karnes, Borger, LaVon Brown, Ravia, Evelyn Frazier, Milburn, and Barbara Rollins, Tishomingo; a son, Jay Burns, Ravia; a brother, Earl, Tishomingo; 30 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
 
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Service.
