Clark Funeral Service

Services for Kenneth Converse, 71, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Fletcher Auditorium on the campus of Murray State College. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery.
 
Born March 11, 1930, at Milburn to Bert and Avor Converse, he died May 8, 2001, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ginger Lea Converse, November 1974.
 
Converse served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Janis Labor Jan. 28, 1953, at Antlers. He was a member of the Oklahoma State House of Representatives for 28 years. He was a rancher and also worked in the real estate business for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church
 
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Phil Converse, Ardmore; two daughters, Ava Hyatt, Mustang, and Paula Rush, Ardmore; two sisters, Nadine Faulk, Dallas, and Maxine Neely, Milburn; one brother Boyd Converse, Tishomingo, nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
 
Bearers are J.E. Bennett, Jim Zimmerman, Don Duke, Jim Tapkens, Verline Chervenka and Terry Dupree.                
 
Memorials may be made to Milburn Education Foundation and Condon Grove Cemetery Association.
 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home.
