Eunice Opal Crook

Eunice Opal Crook died Sept. 23, 2003, in Davis. She was 96.
Born Jan. 21, 1907, in El Dorado (Eldorado), Okla., she was raised in Childress, Texas. In 1943 she trained to be a civilian parachute packer at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked as a parachute packer at McCord Air Force Base in Washington state, then at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento before retiring in 1977.
In 1977 she moved to Davis, where she was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edd Carroll Crook, her parents, John and Artie Wiman, and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughters Billie Jean Behymer and her husband Darrell of Davis and Sue Crook of Woodland, grandchildren Gregory Behymer of Santa Rosa and Cheryl Hale and her husband Harry of Kwajalein, the Marshall Islands. She is also survived by her sister Jayne Bedsow of Davis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held Sept. 29, 2003, at Sierra Hills Memorial Park in Sacramento.
