Harry Scott
Nov. 28, 1918 - Aug. 29, 2006
Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., Friday, September 1st, at 2:00 p.m. for Harry Scott, 87, who passed away August 29, 2006.
Harry was born on November 28, 1918 in Yeager, OK and resided in Kern County for 28 years. He worked in pipeline construction for 45 years.
Harry was a member of the Operating Engineers, was a combat veteran with the U.S. Army Rangers during World War II and was registered as an American Indian with the Cherokee Indian tribe. He was known as "Old Grandpa."
Harry was preceded in death by his daughter, Harriott Joetta Scott; and sons, Marion Reese Scott, Jimmy Ray Scott and John Charles "Chucky" Scott.
He is survived by daughters, Joyce Shadden, Vicki Henderson and Brenda Scott; son, Harry Scott II, and 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, 10:00 a.m.
