Iva Jean (Walker) Perry
November 27, 1929
February 20, 2005
Our mother left her earthly existence on February 20, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Her birth on November 27, 1929 was a joyous celebration for her parents Lennie and Lloyd Walker in Keota (San Bois), Oklahoma.
A survivor of the Dust Bowl Days and a lover of the Big Band Era, she was raised in Wasco and Bakersfield. Affectionately known as Jane, she loved her nursing career, painting, drawing, gardening, stylish clothes, dancing, music, Europe, New Orleans, animals, antiques, the ocean and a good discussion or debate.
She married William N. Perry on February 19, 1949 and together they raised three children: Sandra (John) Turner of Heber City, Utah, Bruce (Colleen) Perry of Cleveland, Texas, and Janie (Pat) Bell of Bakersfield, CA. Also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Stanley Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years; her parents; and baby sister Pauline.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Bakersfield, CA. A memorial will be scheduled at a date to be announced in April. In lieu of flowers, please plant a rose in memory in her life or make a donation to the American Heart & Lung Association.
