Freda L. Morris, long time Whitefield and Hoyt resident died Tuesday, March 22, 2011.  A native of Enterprise she was born November 22, 1925 to Thomas E. and Ethel L. (Peters) Wren.  She grew up at Hitchita and Council Hill where she was educated.  She was married to Charles Morris on January 17, 1946.  They made their home at Whitefield and started farming and raising six children.  They moved to Hoyt in 1984 and resided there together until the death of Mr. Morris in 2010.  She loved to sew, crochet, and quilt, she also enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.  She was very skilled in fixing anything around the house or on the farm.  She was a long time member of the Sandridge United Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Edna and Elden Biggs of Beggs, Glenda and Henry Few of Whitefield, Ethel and James Smith of Porum, Betty and Larry McGuire of Whitefield; two sons, Charles and Marie Morris of Warner, Gerald and Jackie Morris of Whitefield; three sisters, Gladys and Raymond Stephens of Burney, CA, Shirley and Flub Denny of Hoyt, Mary and Kenny DeLay of Muskogee; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ethel Wren; her husband, Charles Morris; two brothers and their wives, Loyd and Mildred Wren, Eugene and Johnia Wren; two sisters, Nona Osborn and Leola Powell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Sandridge United Pentecostal Church with Reverend Danny Denny officiating.  The Eulogist will be Reverend Brian Bryant.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bryan Few, Chris Few, Eric Biggs, Rodney Smith, Tim Smith, Jason Smith, Brent Morris, and Brad Morris. Honorary pallbearer will be James Morris.  Burial will follow at Hoyt Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
