LAVERNE, OKLA. - Marvin "Pete" C. Bentley, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, in Oklahoma City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Wilcox, the Rev. Gaylon Cox and the Rev. Beau Hague officiating. Burial will be in Laverne Memorial Cemetery by Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home of Laverne.

Mr. Bentley was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Laverne to Floyd LeRoy and Dora Mae Wells Bentley. He married Twila Mae Dungan on March 11, 1951, in Clayton, N.M.

Survivors include two sons, Mickey Bentley of Laverne and Kent Bentley of Shattuck; a daughter, Lana Jo Johnson of Troy, Ala.; a brother, Carl D. Bentley of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Irma Lois Jett of Laverne, Eunice Dull of Bartlesville and Faye Ownes of Enid; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 909, Laverne, OK 73848.
