CARL MAX BILLINGTON
Dec. 6, 1926 - June 14, 2004
Service is scheduled on Sat., June 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel for Carl, who passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Lorene; daughter Linda; and grandson, Wesley. Carl was born in Hollis, OK, to Elmo and Christine Billington. His stepmother Advis Billington and stepfather, Carl Wicker, helped forge his good character. Carol moved to Bakersfield in 1934. He served in the Army Air Corp at the close of WW II. Carl was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad for 37 years and enjoyed 18 years of retirement. He especially enjoyed fishing for big bass and was a gifted artist.
Our dad leaves behind sons David Billington and wife Michelle of Seligman, MO; Mark Billington and wife Marty of Sierra Madre, CA; daughter Leslie Morris and husband Jesse of Chino, CA; brother Bill Billington; sisters Wilma Zoe Sheppard, Brenda Erdman and husband Bud. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Dorothy Frazier for being Carl's loving companion and for bringing so much happiness and joy to his life.
Carl will be missed deeply by his family. He will always be remembered for his integrity and setting a shining example for his children and grandchildren to follow.
